More than a 100 kilometers route to get to know closely what we call ‘walking the landscape’: the encounter of itineraries that narrate tales of hidden corners and trace the history of the Daunia Rurale (Rural Daunia).

Greenery and memory is an itinerary that will take you to breathtaking landscape road routes particularly memorable for their historical value.
It will take you straight to the heart of the Tavoliere while touching gently over the mesmerizing cut back views of old settlements. It is all about woodlands, Mediterranean maquis, archeological corners and rural farmlands.

A BICYCLE TRACK
A slow journey on your eco-vehicle cutting through this slice of Puglia pushed by the wind, accompanied by the humming sound of the wheel that fuses with the sounds of nature. A suspended view that catches your eyes, a quite buzz in the atmosphere seems marking the grooves of your pedaling through.

MELTING IMMAGINATION
You are at Torremaggiore, a borgo built on the gentle hill of Torre Vecchia dating around the year 1000.
This is the where the first shepherds of the transhumance and farmers settled, developped later by Basilio Boiannes head of the Byzantines.

SAN SEVERO CULTURAL HERITAGE
Ready to start a 53 Km trip that leads to the Mosaico di San Severo, you are right in the heart of the old town centre. This journey travels across trails and places dominated by the presence of the large farms heritage.

On the banks of the river Fortore
Castello di Dragonara overlooks the homonym forest located at the bottom of the castle walls of this ‘citta’ di frontiera’ (boarding town). It is from here that this seventh itinerary begins. It is a track inspired by water as it follows the course of the river Fortore all the way down and across the valley.
